Do I have to JAILBREAK my device? – NO – WebWatcher does not require you to “Jailbreak” (unlock) the target iOS device. “Jailbreaking” (unlocking) an iOS device is not only complicated, but also voids the devices warranty. With WebWatcher, all you need is the Apple ID & Password of the device you want monitor. Beware of competitors that require you to “Jailbreak” the iOS device.

Do I need to download anything to the device? – NO, as long as iCloud Backup is turned on (which it is by default). All you need is the Apple ID & Password of the device you are authorized to monitor.

*If icloud backup is turned off at any point, you will need to turn iCloud backup on from the device.

How long does it take for recorded data to display in my account? – Recorded data will begin to display in your WebWatcher account once every 24 hours after the last iCloud Backup. Automatic iCloud Backups occur when the device is connected to WiFi, plugged in and locked. This process needs to take place 3 times before recorded data will display.

What do I have to do for iCloud to backup? – iCloud Backup occurs once every 24 hours if iCloud backup is enabled and if the device is plugged in, locked, connected to WiFi and if there is available iCloud storage. Recorded data will begin to display in your account once every 24 hours after 3 Automatic iCloud Backups occur.

5GB of iCloud storage is default on an iOS device. WebWatcher will stop working if there is 0GB of available iCloud storage.

Do I have to buy WebWatcher from the same device I want to monitor? – No. You can purchase WebWatcher from any device. All you need is the Apple ID & Password of the iOS device you want to monitor.

Does WebWatcher record deleted text messages? – WebWatcher records all SMS Text Messages and iMessages, including deleted messages (that are deleted post iCloud backup). SMS Text Messages and iMessages deleted prior to the iCloud backup cannot be recorded by WebWatcher.

Does WebWatcher work on tablets? – YES! WebWatcher for iOS works with all iOS devices (iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch) iOS 6.0 or later. WebWatcher is also compatible with Android tables running Android 2.1 or later.

How does WebWatcher appear on a credit card statement? – WebWatcher will not appear as “WebWatcher” on any banking statements. Instead, it will simply appear as “Awareness Technologies.”
Does WebWatcher record Website History in Safari in Private Browsing? – NO. Website History cannot be captured if Private Browsing is enabled in Safari.

When can I use WebWatcher? – Awareness Technologies Terms of Use and End User Licensing Agreement require that you only install its software on devices that you own or have permission to monitor and that you inform all users of those devices that they are being monitored. Failure to do so may result in breaking of Federal and State laws. Awareness Technologies will cooperate with authorities in investigation of any allegations of misuse. Consult legal counsel if you have questions regarding your specific circumstances.

Does this software record phone calls? – NO! Call Intercept and Spy Call are only available using Flexispy. We do not record voice calls, voicemails or allow you to listen in on surrounding audio. WebWatcher only records Call Log History.

What is iPhone Jailbreaking?

What’s jailbreaking? Jailbreaking is the act of modifying the iPhone software to remove any restrictions set by Apple. The primary constraint is that applications can only be downloaded and installed from the App Store. With a jailbroken phone you can install applications from a rival to the App Store, and also manually using files downloaded from the internet.

Jailbreaking an iPhone is not the same thing as unlocking it. iPhones are usually offered for sale as part of an agreement locking it to a specific cellular network.

Is Jailbreaking a bad idea?

There are many reasons to jailbreak an iPhone; but it can lead to complications.

Anytime Apple updates its operating system, those who jailbreak the device are left out in the cold. As soon as the user plugs their jailbroken iPhone into their computer to download new software, Apple closes the operating system and installs the new update. That means that if a user wants a new version of Apple’s software, but still wants to maintain all the jailbroken features, they’re out of luck. Apple doesn’t want users to jailbreak its smartphones. And it does everything it can with each new update to stop that. So, if an update is really important to a user, it’s probably best not to jailbreak the smartphone in the first place.

Your battery life could suffer: Some third-party apps and processes care very little about how much power they pull from your iOS device. If you’re running some of these things on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, your battery could drain in short order.

Your phone could become less stable: Say what you will about the sometimes-quirky nature of the App Store’s approval process, at least apps have been vetted-hopefully to the point where they shouldn’t take down the entire device when they crash. There’s no guarantee that apps offered via Cydia will be as stable.
